I have worked with animals starting at the age of 13. It began by volunteering at the local SPCA, which turned into a six year stay. I have experience with animal rehabilitation and release from a wildlife rescue in Pensacola. Two more years were spent at a pet store learning small animal care, grooming for dogs of all sizes and basic dog training. Another two years have been spent dealing with exotics (large and small) at both the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa and another here at the Virigina Zoo in the docent program. I used to ride and have basic knowledge for the upkeep for horses. Animals have always been a part of my life, including my own very special 10 year-old Golden Retriever. I love them and treat each one as my own.
